Breanna's Comments:
I don't think there was quite an obvious winner for this pairing. In my opinion, neither picture showed the birds in their best light, though I do think that the australorp has the upper edge. The wyandotte appears to be walking, throwing his tail back and out of balance, and while he does have what appears to be a lovely width and depth to him, that just puts him below the nicely posed Australorp, who had a nice tail set and equal width to the back. Therefore AUM31 takes first for me.
Top Participant Evaluations:
"Australorp has a better type. The Wyandotte doesn't have the depth necessary for the breed and his tail is too low. The Australorp is a bit short in the back but he does have a good body and decent tail. The Wyandotte's coloring is also a bit fuzzy compared to the Australorp but of course, black is a pretty easy color to achieve on a dark-legged bird so it's no surprise that the Australorp would beat him in this area."

"Australorp is what I pick out of these two. He has a really nice comb...correct shape and deepness of chest..holds his tail correctly...good leg color..back angle..and wing carriage. Wyandotte needs to work on back and tail angle..stronger lacing on the wings...and wing carriage is also low."

Breeder Comments:
"I would go with the australorp to win this round. Milo has a lot to work on and type is one of them. His back is a bit short and his tail angle is too short (in this picture. When he is standing upright it is better but you can only judge by this picture.) Milo also holds his wings too low as well. The australorp is a really nice specimen and just beautiful work from Zachary. Nice long tail. Nice body. Nice breast. The only thing about him is I would like to see a longer back and higher wing position. (Hard to tell wing position based on the picture but it just looks like they’re too low.)"

"I would go with the Australrop, solely based on type." -Zachary Wrzesinski
Judge's Evaluations:
"AUM31 is first, and Milo takes second. Australorp has better type." -Judge Brian Decker
